There is also the mountainous inland - dominated by the Serra da Estrela mountain. The green, rugged landscape
of this region is crisscrossed by rivers.

skiing in Serra da Estrela).

Foz do Arelho is one of the sixteen civil parishes (freguesias) that make up the municipality of Caldas da Rainha, on the Silver Coast in western Portugal.
Foz do Arelho is located 8 km west of the city of Caldas da Rainha at the ocean basin of Lagoa de Óbidos (Óbidos Lagoon). Foz do Arelho has several magnificent beach spots; one can choose between swimming and sailing in the calm warm waters of the lagoon, or surf and swim in the cool waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
Foz do Arelho has always been a seasonal vacation resort, chosen by the elite families, with its bloom in 1930s. "Rusty" and forgotten for a number of years, it has again become a favoured vacationspot and a place to invest for a second home in the sun.
Green Hill
Foz do Arelho has one of Portugal's biggest clubs: the Green Hill. Don't be fooled by the exterior - Green Hill is realy something you can't miss if you enjoy nightlife and a good disco. Bussloads of people come all the way from Lisbon to have a good night of dancing, as the place is visited by the most famous DJ's.
Wine from the region of Centro

of different wines with distinctive personality.
