Espinho is a city and a municipality in northern Portugal, some 15 km south of Porto (Oporto). Renowned for its vast, sun-kissed beaches and wonderful selection of seafood restaurants, Espinho is a popular holiday town, situated on Portugal's northwestern coast known as the Costa Verde - the Green Coast.
In addition to the long stretch of golden sandy beach, the town also boasts one of the oldest golf courses in the world, Oporto Golf Club, dating from 1890.
Espinho has developed a reputation as an "excellent" venue for the SWATCH-FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. Espinho has hosted the World Tour more than a dozen of times!
The city is not only a reputed beach resort it's also known for it's (legal) gambling with Casino Solverde. Espinho is home to CINANIMA - Festival Internacional de Cinema de Animação, an international animation festival.
